First thing, to explain: I picked up some prompts on tumblr and found a site i liked (http://www.creativewritingprompts.com/). I won't post daily, so the "days" are just a way of keeping track on what number I'm doing. I took on the liberty of changing it a bit, so I'm doing this on a object that I no longer have contact with, since it was the first one that came in mind. So, that's that.
The old shoes remained beside the door for days. The old leather shoes were old, but still as beautiful as the day when it was bought, just like it's owner. Sadly, the pair of oxford shoes were abandoned now that their user was gone. Untouched by those who lived in the house, but not forgoten. The little blue eyed boy cried everytime he looked at them, but refused to let anyone take them away.
Those shoes were present while the broken family returned home, unusually quiet. If shoes had feelings, it could be said that they were mourning. Turned to a darker kind of brown, even.
When the family left, it stayed behind. The pair of sad oxford shoes saw that none of the children that came home on that terrible day wanted to leave. They saw the hurt and the emptiness in each of the boys that left the house, each with a suitcase.
Before leaving, the blue eyed one gave them a last tormented look. It was a goodbye. And it hurts more than it should, as this one was forever.
So, I actually picked up my father's shoes, because he only had one pair. Believe me, he would not let go of those shoes. I don't think this scene actually happened, but it was the first thing that I thought of. I actually disrespected the prompt completely so, yeah, sorry.
